Rick A. Martin, CPA

Rick Martin is co-managing partner and the firm’s partner in charge of tax services, in addition to maintaining a significant client practice. He serves clients in various industries with an array of tax and accounting services, including tax preparation for individuals, businesses and estates; tax planning and consultations; estate and trust planning and settlements; and business planning for sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations.

Rick has nearly 50 years of public accounting experience, having graduated from Baylor University in 1971 with a BBA in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1973 and joined the Firm that same year, and he was named partner in 1979. During the period of affiliation with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rick was the local partner in charge of tax services, in addition to serving on various tax committees.

Rick is a current member and former board member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). He is a past President of the South Plains Chapter of TSCPA and a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is past secretary-treasurer of both United Way of Lubbock and the South Plains Boy Scout Council, past secretary of the Southwest Rotary Club of Lubbock, and past President of the South Plains Trust & Estate Council. Rick is also a former board member of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and a former member of the Texas Tech University Tax Advisory Council.

In his spare time Rick enjoys traveling with his wife, Sharon, spending time with their children and grandchildren, fly fishing, and following both the Baylor and Texas Tech athletic programs.
