Along with his substantial and growing tax and accounting practice, John Seright is co-managing partner and the firm’s partner in charge of forensic and litigation support services. He serves clients in many different industries with a variety of services, including tax preparation for individuals and businesses, tax planning and consultations, forensic investigations, litigation support, valuation services, and business planning services.

John has nearly 40 years of public accounting experience, having joined the firm in 1983 after receiving his BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University, in 1982. In 1984 John earned a Master of Science in Accounting from Texas Tech, with emphases in taxation and oil & gas accounting, and in 1985 he became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1998 and 2003, John earned his Certified Valuation Analyst and Certified Forensic Financial Analyst credentials, respectively, and in 2006 he became an AICPA Accredited Business Valuator.

John has held memberships in or been involved with numerous professional organizations and activities, including the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the TSCPA Litigation Support Division; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; the Institute of Business Appraisers, Inc.; and the National Association of Forensic Economics. He is past president of the South Plains Trust & Estate Council, a past accounting instructor at Texas Tech University, a former chairman of the Texas Tech Tax Institute, and a past member of the Texas Tech University Accounting Advisory Council. John is also a past member of both the Coopers & Lybrand National Tax Instruction team and the Coopers & Lybrand National Energy Committee.

In addition to his professional affiliations, John has been involved in many civic activities, including United Way of Lubbock, with whom he is a former board member, former treasurer, and former chairman of the Planned Giving Committee. He participated in and graduated from Leadership Lubbock in 1998, and he is a past treasurer of both Southwest Rotary of Lubbock and the Lubbock Club. He is a former T-Ball and Little League baseball coach and a current director for the South Plains Better Business Bureau.

Away from work, John enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Alina, and their four children, as well as following the Texas Tech athletic programs.
