Carolyn Robinson Stephenson is the firm’s partner in charge of human resources, in addition to having a substantial tax and accounting practice. She serves clients in various industries with a range of tax and accounting services, including tax preparation for individuals, businesses, estates and non-profit organizations; tax planning and consultations; tax debt negotiations and resolutions; and business planning for sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations.

Carolyn holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Texas Tech University, with an emphasis in Taxation, and a Bachelor of Business from Lubbock Christian University. Carolyn became an Enrolled Agent in 1978 and joined the Firm the following year. Her prior experience included owning and operating two H&R Block franchises in Louisiana, where she prepared over 1,000 tax returns a month for a period of 9 years.

Carolyn has more than 50 years of public accounting experience that includes preparation and review of all aspects of federal and state tax filings for individuals, partnerships, LLC’s, corporations, subchapter S entities, estates, and non-profit organizations; managing the tax department for national and international tax practices; representing hundreds of clients in the IRS audit process, including appeals to the U.S. Tax Court; representing hundreds of clients in resolving tax debt, such as submitting offers in compromise, installment agreements, penalty abatements, innocent spouse petitions, and appeals; expert witness testimony on tax related matters; representing hundreds of clients with the buying and selling of businesses; and teaching tax and accounting classes for Lubbock Christian University and Coopers & Lybrand.

Carolyn is also highly active in her church and the Lubbock community, as a ministry leader for programs aimed at single mothers, widows and orphans, and a current or former board member for many non-profit organizations. She served on the board of directors for Goodwill Industries of Lubbock for nearly 20 years, including a term as president. Carolyn also enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Charles, and their children and grandchildren.
